TAROTSCOPE: Taurus Season

Our resident Tarot expert Helen Schmidt of @78reasons is back with our Taurus season 'scope! Every month, Helen does a reading for the oh holisticism crew. Then, she gives us directions on how to pull our own Tarotscope. Keep scrolling for the goods.

Taurus is a fixed Earth sign. It rules the sector of the material world that influences stability, work, beauty, and money. Sustainability is the main ingredient that helps us expand in this area.

The Sun moved into Taurus on April 19th. This is our time to evaluate what is not efficient and discover a more sustainable process.

What common area can we all work on together? And how can we work with each other in a sustainable way?

When I thought of this Q for the Tarot, I was thinking about the powerful thousands of women that make up the oh holisticism community—a group of magical beings using their powers to change the world. So, I thought, “How cool would it be if we directed all of our different gifts into one cosmic universal area?” Like, where or what does the Universe need all of our help in right now?

5 of Swords says The Universe wants us to make our true core beliefs and values sustainable universally. The oh holisticism community sustains with a common set of beliefs and values, but now is the time to look at the areas of our lives or communities we’re apart of where this may not be happening yet.

Most of us have a situation in our lives where we feel like what we’re participating in (whether it be a job, environment, family, or friend-group) that’s not truly in alignment with our core beliefs and values. And yet we still have to live with it … and that doesn’t feel great. But here’s the kicker: This misalignment continues to live and sustain, not because we haven’t evolved collectively, but because we need to rewire our actions to align with how we show up with our beliefs and values.

The truth is, we all operate at some sort of auto-pilot. Even though we’ve evolved internally, the physical expression of this evolution may not have caught up yet. That’s why these old values and beliefs continue around us.

We don’t evolve on the physical plane/outwardly by pushing our beliefs and values onto others. We do this by leading by example; allow your core truths to shine even brighter.  We can start by checking in with our words, body language, and actions. Are some of our practices outdated? The Devil represents the torturous thing we do to ourselves—working towards a completely false projectioned and idealized reality. That reality is totally fake and extremely unrealistic, and is usually built on the back of our own lingering limited belief systems.

The good news is that we have the key to unlock ourselves to freedom. We can help the Universe sustain our values and beliefs by releasing the chains of limited and outdated beliefs.

Here’s how you can use Tarot (or Oracle) cards to receive guidance on personal areas of your life that need to be sustained. Tag us @holisticism and Helen @78reasons so we can swoon!

  1. Take note on what is not sustainable in your life that you want to be. This could be a job, a relationship, a belief system, etc. What about your situation is unsustainable? (I’m tired and grumpy all the time, the relationship takes up too much of my energy, I can’t keep telling myself that I’m ugly or fat, etc.) What do you feel you need to do to change the current state it is in?

  2. Set the mood: Press play on the oh holisticism x 78 Reasons Taurus Tarotscope Playlist. Burn some palo santo to clear energy from the deck. Grab a crystal or seven. Sit comfortably.

  3. Hold the deck in both hands. Close your eyes. Intuitively communicate the following to your deck:

Hi Tarot. The channel is open between you and I. I am ready and excited for your divine guidance around _____.

  4. Shuffle the cards for the duration of at least one full song. Try to keep your eyes closed during the full song. Listen to the lyrics, feel the rhythm, observe any visuals you see, and listen to any words that stick out.

  5. When you’re done shuffling, fan the cards out like the shape of a crescent moon.

  6. Scan the cards visually. Stop at the card that is grabbing your attention. Pull that card out. Do this one more time. You should have two cards now. The 1st card represents how you can achieve sustainability. The 2nd card represents any additional messages you need to know. Reference your guidebook on the meaning of the card.

  7. Close the channel at the end of every reading. Gather all of your cards, hold onto them with both hands again while you sit comfortable. Intuitively communicate to the deck:

Thank you, Tarot, for your guidance and wisdom. The channel between you and I is closed.
