meet rebecca

A scientific mind, and a creative soul, Rebecca began exploring the art and science of movement at the age of five through classical ballet.

Upon achieving a Bachelors in Contemporary Dance at Concordia University in Montreal, Rebecca relocated to Berlin, Germany where she pursued a career as a professional dancer and hula hoop artist while maintaining a practice of teaching yoga and the Gyrotonic Method. 

Any opportunity that presented itself Rebecca devoted her time to studying with yoga and movement masters, and used her own body as a laboratory to explore its limits through handstand training, Contorsion, and extreme hula hooping. Throughout this time she developed a fantastic relationship with an osteopath who helped her to maintain her health and peak performance through osteopathic manual therapy and specific exercises to balance her weaknesses.

Upon returning to North America she embarked on the process of becoming an osteopath at the Canadian College of Osteopathy. Now based in Los Angeles,  Rebecca see clients on a regular basis from her space in Silver Lake and travels internationally to lead trainings & retreats.

Some of the benefits of a regular Gyrotonic practice include a healthier, more supple spine, increased range of motion, greater joint stability, improved agility and athletic performance, and a deep internal strength. Rebecca offers personalized sessions that are adapted to fit the needs of all ages, and abilities, from elderly patients recovering from injury, to highly skilled professional dancers, actors & athletes.  

Private Flow Mindful Yoga + Meditation Session

Close your eyes and sink into the rhythm of your breath, and be guided through a playful, dynamic dance-y sequence of FUN asana and methodically chosen sequences that will open your body and your mind and take you far away from the challenges and worries of everyday reality. Rebecca specially structures your time together to bring you into balance, featuring your strength, your sense of humor, and your flexibility. Be prepared to sweat, laugh, fall and get back up again.

Digital Postural Assessment

Have you been trying to put together a home-based movement practice but don’t know where to start? No matter where you are located in the world, Rebecca can help you figure which yoga poses you should and shouldn’t be doing for your postural type, as well as help you come up with tools to adjust your lifestyle, diet and sleep patterns to best suit a life where you can live in your fullest potential. In this 60-minute session you will receive a full postural assessment, an exercise program you can do daily, a 7-day meal plan, and sleeping schedule to suit your lifestyle. This is an excellent choice if you’re feeling stuck in a rut or if you’d like to revitalize your brain, body and soul, and take the steps towards a new more energized you.
