ABOUT HOLISTICISM

Holisticism bridges the gap between the mystic and the realistic to make well-being more accessible to more people.

How does one “make wellness more accessible?” Great question:

  • We provide free and affordable resources to our community

  • We tell stories about wellness for diverse populations

  • We elevate practitioners who we believe in and trust

We’re here to support to any human on a journey to becoming more truly themselves — whether you’re a wellness newbie or an expert facilitator — and especially if you’ve ever felt like you just didn’t fit in in the “wellness” space.

Because we didn’t, either.

At Holisticism, Black Lives Matter. Gender is a spectrum. Healthcare is a human right. Science is real.

Here’s to the new inclusive, intersectional, ever-healing world.

May we create it together.

My relationship with wellness is … complicated. At 17 I was diagnosed with epilepsy and told I’d take some prescription drugs that really messed me up for life. A few years later, I saw a holistic practitioner on a whim and a prayer with a side of cynical eye-roll. I haven’t had a seizure (or taken anti-seizure medication) since.

You know what’s cool? Finding a form of well-being that worked for me. You know what’s not? That only the privileged, the wealthy, the “in-the-know,” the cool people have access to the majority of the wellness industry.

Well-being feels inaccessible to many for very valid reasons. Geography, socioeconomics, class, race, gender identity create tangible barriers to access. And at Holisticism, we don’t think it needs to be that way.

I use my background in tech, my experiences with health, and my mystical practices (Head Witch In Charge, duh) to make well-being less stigmatized, more normal, and more accessible.

I also deeply believe in intuitive business™ practices, which is what I teach my students in the North Node and how I run Holisticism.

If that sounds interesting to you, a good place to start is by joining our crew by subscribing to our weekly digital magazine. From there, the rest will become clear.

JANELLE PEARSON

Janelle Renee Pearson is a self-proclaimed love enthusiast. Born in San Antonio, Texas, most of her life has been spent growing up in the Valley of Los Angeles. After living in Accra, Ghana, and traveling the coast of West Africa in 2012, Janelle was launched into an awakening and set on the path of conscious evolution.

Being gifted with a passion for the arts, she uses her talents to create/tell stories of characters in conscious and active self-discovery. Leaning heavily into authenticity and a purpose-driven life, Janelle holds a strong desire to help others “find their bliss”.

Along with her creative work, Janelle currently owns and operates a cold-pressed juicing company/delivery service, RAJE Juice. With RAJE, Janelle holds the intention of connecting her community, the black community, to their produce and cultivating a health consciousness. Janelle is excited to be joining Holisticism as a Community and Content Care Specialist and wants to lean into this time as a space holder for any and all who may need, as well as opportunity to pour back into her own cup as well.

Wallis Millar-Blanchaer

Wallis is a multi-media obsessed Alien (a legal one in the U.S that is), hailing from the East Coast of Canada, living and working in LA and Toronto. She loves to tell stories that capture the mood of the moment, comment on the Zeitgeist, and ask open-ended questions.

Whether it’s via photography, writing, TikToking, or whatever medium she can get her hands on, Wallis is a sucker for finding a new lens to see and communicate through.

When she’s not grappling with her relationship to social media (maybe being a cyborg does have its perks!) and the ephemeral holes of the internet, she’s snapping film, devouring 6 books simultaneously, scouting local thrift shops, binging TikTok, spending hours in the mystical book nooks, and sourcing new orange wines (#millenial) to try with friends.

Wallis joins the team as our Director of Content Development.
