2 Specific Areas of Your Astrological Natal Chart That Inform Your Secret Gifts and Talents

I got it into my head when I was in second grade that I was a singing prodigy.

Dear Reader, I am not, was not, and will never be a singing prodigy.

To be fair, this ego-centrism was spurned on by a well-meaning adult who did pull my mother aside after I stole the mic at a wedding to sing a song from the Disney classic, The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Only the love song hits from this 10-year-old, folx.

This woman—an alleged singing teacher—told my mother I was ‘gifted’ chanteuse and that she should get me into lessons and on Broadway, stat.

Long story short, my singing career never took off, partially because 1) I cannot carry a tune and 2) I have paralyzing stage fright.

But I remember the feeling of having a stranger see something in you that you’d never seen in yourself—and a gift, no less! Overwhelmingly pleasing.

Last week, Lexie Rollet taught a virtual workshop re: finding your gifts and talents according to your natal chart. It. was. EPIC. And while we can’t fit everything that we learned into one single blog post, we thought we’d touch on a few aspects that Lexie discussed.

A caveat: There is SO MUCH information held in your natal chart. And most of what you can learn isn’t interpretted singularly—the data points work in context with each other. So while pulling out certain pieces of info about your natal chart can help you learn how the natal chart works and a little bit more about yourself, it’s best interpretted as a small piece that’s part of a greater whole.

For example, knowning your Jupiter sign and placement tells you some things. But seeing that your Jupiter is square to your Moon can give you even more dimensional understanding of how your gifts (Jupiter) work with your emotions (Moon) … which in turn tells you a lot more about what your success path might look like.

Make sense? Cool.

As always, hugely recommend doing at least one natal chart reading with an astrologer. Co—Star is great, but it helps to ask your questions to a living, breathing human being. I find natal chart readings so empowering, come at some many accessible pricepoints, and they make great zerowaste gifts IMO.

For now, keep scrolling to learn about two important outer planets that indicate your gifts and talents: Jupiter and Uranus.

Jupiter — Gift Giver

Jupiter throws it’s weight around. Things with a greater mass have a stronger gravitational pull, and Jupiter is like that in our natal chart. Anything that Jupiter touchers gets bigger, more powerful, more magnetic—for better or worse.

“When we begin to embody our Jupiter sign, we create more luck and expansion in our lives,” says Lexie.

Begin by looking at what your Jupiter sign is and where it falls in your chart.

Jupiter Signs

  • Aries - leadership and confidence

  • Taurus - finances and stability

  • Gemini - communicating and versatile

  • Cancer - real estate and humor

  • Leo - performance and vitality

  • Viro - analytics and service

  • Libra - balance and arts

  • Scorpio - investigating and healing

  • Sagittarius - adventure and philosophy

  • Capricorn - willpower and business

  • Aquarius - futuristic and humanitarian

  • Pisces - imagination and empathy

Jupiter Houses

  • First - self and beginnings

  • Second - money and values

  • Third - knowledge and experiences

  • Fourth - family and home

  • Fifth - creativity and children

  • Sixth - health and organization

  • Seventh - partnership and equality

  • Eighth - merging and regeneration

  • Ninth - education and spirituality

  • Tenth - public persona and legacy

  • Eleventh - community and dreams

  • Twelfth - unseen and endings

To understand your Jupiter placement and how it may affect your life, try this: I’m lucky and magnetic in [insert Jupiter sign] when it comes to my [insert Jupiter placement].

For example, if you had a Jupiter in Taurus in the 11th: I’m lucky and magnetic in finances and stability when it comes to my community and dreams.

Remember, Jupiter amplifies everything—good and bad. So while you maybe be naturally lucky in finances, that may also mean that you haven’t spent time consciously developing skill in that area of your life (resting on your laurels, ya feel?) you may have issues there in the future because things come so easily to you. Interpret this information as a gift of awareness.

Uranus — Unique and Radical

Uranus is … weird. According to Lexie, “Uranus operates by its own rules. It can show us where and how we might feel rebellious, different, and unique. It tells us how our business can be different from others.”

You wanna be special? Uranus shows you how you’re special.

Uranus Signs

  • Aries - original and inventive

  • Taurus - patient and constructive
