HOT TAKE: Productivity, Perfectionism, and Monday Hour One

Have you read and listened to every productivity book and podcast out there or tried a zillion ways to organize your life but feel like there's no "hack" that's right for you?

SAME.

At Holisticism, we can admit that we've all spent a pretty penny trying to get someone to just give.us.the.damn.keys to our success already! But alas, we'd like to save those pretty pennies and our sacred energy to re-invest in our own businesses.

On today's Hot Take minisode, Michelle goes in on why her go-to productivity tool is Monday Hour One. If you're done with trying different routines, this might be the right tool to help you tear down your habits and build them anew, baby!

I was obsessed with productivity because of internalized capitalism and I would read all the productivity books and try all the frameworks and ideas. They would work for a couple of days, and then inevitably they’d fail, and I would fail, and I’d feel like a total garbage can of a human being. Monday hour one is the only thing that makes me not feel like that.

Well, first off procrastination is not a sign of laziness. Number one, procrastination is a form of perfectionism, and number two procrastination is a form of self-harm.
— Michelle Pellizzon
The way that Monday hour one can really work is when you hold yourself in high regard and you say, “I have created the schedule or I’ve created this week for myself out of love and out of the idea that I want to thrive and I want to set myself up to feel good. I don’t want to have anxiety or to feel less than, or to be overwhelmed because I’m not at my best, my magic doesn’t flow as quickly when I’m putting myself in that situation.
