Doing Things Differently: The Magic in Your Adaptability Quotient with Liz Tran

Do you know your adaptability quotient? No??? In this economy?!?

In today’s episode, our guest, Liz Tran, shares why she believes that (in this economy) your Adaptability Quotient (AQ) is more valuable than your IQ.

For the next few weeks, our Tuesday episodes will feature guests and conversations on the topic of, “Doing Things Differently”. We’ll be in conversation with guests discussing how they’ve overcome and adapted to some of their toughest challenges, and found alternative paths for creative a fulfilling life.

Before Reset, Liz spent over a decade working in the tech industry, most recently as the only female executive at a leading venture capital firm. Liz Tran is releasing her book, THE KARMA OF SUCCESS, on July 25th.

Every time I sit down and write I have a prayer that I say — May my lessons and hardships be of service to others. May I grow in love and abundance every day and inspire other to do the same. And may my energy and support enable people to reach their greatest potential. — So I think about that because otherwise I get really shy about putting things out into the world because I don’t want to feel like I have the spotlight. But this helps center me in why I do the work that I do.
— Liz Tran
I felt like I had taken this huge risk for nothing and was in a moment where I really doubted my spirituality. I had made all these decisions based on my integrity, my spiritual beliefs and my values, and they really hadn’t worked out. And I was so upset. I remember just crying on the floor while my husband packed things into boxes because I couldn’t do it.
— Liz Tran
That’s the big advice I have — always be changing. And then related to that, because everything’s always switching underneath you, you can’t look for positive reinforcement and recognition from anyone except for yourself. You’re just going to waste too much time trying to chase it down from your investors, your cofounders, and even, god forbid, your employees.
