Why "Charging Your Worth" Actually Devalues You and Others with Victoria Albina

Episode Description

For the next four weeks, we'll be diving into the concept of money as medicine and how our relationship with money affects our overall wellbeing. Today Michelle is speaking with Victoria Albina, NP, MPH, and I coach helping codependent folks socialized as women to stop feeling anxious, exhausted and overwhelmed, so they can have better relationships with their partners, parents, and themselves.

Human beings are invaluable. We are more precious than anything and we can’t put a value on ourselves or charge your worth.
— Michelle Pellizzon
Charging your worth devalues other humans and the mother earth.
— Victoria Albina
The nuance of what it means to be wealthy is often lost. The idea of wealth is very simple. It’s like when I have wealth, then everything else in my life will fall into place.
— Michelle Pellizzon
Ask yourself and you ask your body. What is it inside you that believes that it is safer to worry about money than to take action to change?
— Victoria Albina
We can’t heal hurt with more hurt.
— Victoria Albina
You can either live presumptively that someone else’s meaning-making system is the correct one for you, or try your hand at living in with different intentionality and recognizing that you can create your own story.
— Victoria Albina
Money is not inherently evil. But money has been used for evil to propagate evil and has been used in evil ways, under colonialism.
— Victoria Albina
Wanting to be liked is not a problem until you want others to like you more than you want you to like you.
— Victoria Albina
If we’re giving away more than we are using to support ourselves, whether it’s time, money, love, care, domestic labor, emotional labor, whatever it is, we are eventually not going to have enough to fill our own cup.
— Victoria Albina
