Instances to hold accountability within the community need to be done in a way that honors the person's humanity. - Daje James

When I'm ready, I will respond to you. Sometimes some things need a more urgent response, but I only give that response when I've cultivated inner safety. Cultivating inner safety on the internet is a big freaking deal. - Daje James

A person who knows that they're about to cancel someone knows that they're starting a forest fire. - Daje James

The idea is that transformation or state change is not linear. If we want to build sustainably, we have to lean into a more cyclical model that models the way that nature unfolds from itself. - Daje James

If it doesn't circle back around and continue to expand and grow in a circular or a cyclical format, then it's going to fizzle out. Preparing for cyclical transformation is being willing to lean into the process and say, we're not through and there isn't an end to growth, there isn't an end to expansion. - Daje James

Strategy is about getting low to the ground and listening to what the context is and responding to the contexts based on what you hear. - Daje James

Everybody is innately strategic. Everybody has a story that's unfolding out of them all the time and it's not a story that's linear. It's a story that's cyclical, that's bending and folding with the seasons. We're not just these beings that wake up one day out of the womb and live these linear lives. So why would we expect business to be the same way? A user journey is not a straightforward process. It has a lot of loops. It contains a lot of backward and forwards dances. - Daje James

I think of frameworks like channels. They're just channels that the work flows through like it's alchemy, spell work, it's Abracadabra. I love that word, but it also Abraca-do-the-work. - Daje James

I'd rather be a siren singing one note into the dark, asking it to break into stars, than to be silent. That's how I see the internet. - Daje James

We mistake safety, cycles, or that framework for something that's fencing us in. When in reality it's like the skeleton that's holding us up and that we need in order to move forward. - Michelle Pellizzon

  • [01:08:07] People on the internet, if they don't acknowledge the hard stuff going on in their lives, they get called fake. When they do, they get called pathetic. It’s magnifying people’s shit, as much as it's magnifying people’s goodness.
